Robin Sharma el autor del conocido libro El monje que vendió su ferrari escribió en otro de sus títulos Éxito, una guía extradionaria lo que sigue a continuación “corre hacia la cima mientras disfrutas de la ascensión.” Pues vaya que si corren nuestros “crossroaders” ya están casi a las puertas de Valladolid empiezo a pensar si lo hacen andando como dicen o realmente lo hacen corriendo. Y además disfrutan, disfrutan de la naturaleza y geografía española, de la compañía de unos y otros, de las tremendas acogidas en pueblos y ciudades y hasta de los improperios que les profieren… Imperialistas como relatábamos hace un par de días, si es que la mayoría nos provocan risa.
Este jueves recorrimos la distancia que separa Toro – Medina del Campo a través de la carretera CL-602.
Como de costumbre el día comenzó de madrugada intentando aprovechar las horas estivales de menos calor, el sol castellano sigue apretando con fuerza. Las ampollas comienzan a hacerse visibles e irreversibles en tanto los pies no descansen pero para eso aún nos quedan 17 días. Alguna suela del calzado también va comenzando a mostrar sus secuelas y deja entrever ligeramente el tejido de algún calcetín.
Tras el madrugón comenzamos la ruta, salió a andar la primera pareja del Grupo A y casi sin darnos cuenta llegamos a Alaejos, localidad situada en el punto medio de nuestra ruta a unos 30 Km aproximadamente de Toro y Medina del Campo. Inesperadamente fuimos recibidos por una representación de habitantes de la localidad los cuales generosamente nos instalaron un punto de avituallamiento en el que reponer fuerzas para continuar con el camino. La ilusión de la gente porque nuestro “prolife rally” pasase por su pueblo era palpable en el ambiente de ánimos y apoyo que nos mostraban. Tuvimos oportunidad de tomar algunas y rezar el ángelus.
Llegamos a Medina del Campo y mientras algunos de nosotros preparaban la comida otros fueron recibidos por David Blanco, concejal del Partido Popular quien se mostró especialmente sensibilizado con el proyecto. Le expusimos nuestra misión y objetivos y nos ofreció generosamente que le redactásemos una propuesta de moción de AbortoCero en la que ya estamos trabajando para todos los Ayuntamientos por los que hemos pasado y que sería planteada en el Pleno en tiempo y forma para que tuviera cabida la voz de Crossroads – AbortoCero en su ayuntamiento ya que como nos confirmó han sido numerosas las personas y concejales del PP de la localidad los que han participado en las pasadas manifestaciones en favor de la vida.
La noche se pasó en Alaejos retrocediendo para ello ese día en la ruta que finalizó en Medina del Campo. La acogida volvió a ser calurosa el párroco, D. Javier Sánchez al no encontrarse en el municipio contactó con D. Francisco García, sacerdote de la parroquia de Fresno el viejo y Arcipreste de Medina del Campo quien ofició la misa a favor de la cultura de la vida y del proyecto Crossroads-aborto cero.
El personal de la oficina de turismo nos enseñó el conjunto histórico-artístico. A continuación caminamos mientras rezábamos el rosario hacia la Ermita de la Virgen de la Casita, lugar de devoción de las gentes de lugar. Tuvimos la gran suerte de ser acompañados por Transi, abuela infatigable de 99 años de edad y “delicia de persona” según describen los “crossroaders” quien pidió que la llevásemos con nosotros en su silla de ruedas hasta la citada ermita. Día emotivo que se reflejabda en la docena de “apóstoles” que oraban para encontrarse con la Virgen en la Ermita portando una bandera del Sagrado corazón de Jesús y una cruz llevaba consigo un jinete del municipio, Diego y que eventualmente ha colaborado con Crossroads.
La cena se organizó en la casa de Ángel también colaborador y defensor de la cultura de la vida, tuvimos la oportunidad de contar con la experiencia y testimonio de A. C. amigo y persona que nos orientó en los inicios de Crossroads quien tuvo la atención de invitarnos a una parrillada mientras exhortaba a los “crossroaders” a seguir firmes en la fe procurando vivir fielmente un estilo de servicio a Dios y al hombre.
